Childhood Obesity Linked to Asthma

According to a NHANES survey, obese children aged 2-19 years of age "were more likely to report having current asthma than normal-weight children". This is equally apparent in children of both sexes.

The added weight makes the asthma more difficult to manage. These children receive the same treatment as other children, but obese children don't do as well as they don't react the same a normal-weight children to medication. They require closer monitoring.
